The Deep Game
How do I play The Deep’s game?
Just follow the rules that come with your game (we even put them inside the box; we're smart like that! 😉). But if you still need help, here’s how to play in a nutshell:
1. Pick a deck at random. They’re all fun, and all different!
2. Put the deck between you, face down. *IMPORTANT: Do not shuffle!* We’ve carefully crafted each deck to be played in order (starting with card 1, then 2, etc.).
3. Take turns drawing cards and reading each card out loud to each other.
4. If you draw a “Rapid Fire” card, have everyone answer the questions as quickly as possible. Then go back and discuss any you’d like to delve into further.
5. If you’re playing with a large group and you draw a card with a 2-choice answer (e.g., YES | NO), we highly recommend doing a quick vote (using raised hands) to see how everyone initially is responding about the question. Then open it up for discussion and see if anyone’s answer is changed by the conversation.
6. Continue until you’ve finished the whole deck.
7. Can’t get enough? Pour yourself a cocktail and dive into another deck!
Are there right or wrong answers to your questions?
Nope! There are no right or wrong answers to these questions (despite what your spouse may say). Our questions are simply designed to get you thinking, talking, laughing, and engaging with each other on a deeper level.
How many people do I need to play?
You can play The Deep Game with as many as 20 people or as few as 2. But we think the sweet-spot is 4-12 players.
How long will the conversation last?
Honestly, it varies. (We would never lie to you, sweet internet person!) It depends on who you’re playing with and how many people are playing. However, conversations usually last between 30 minutes and 2 hours — and of course you can stop any time you
Can I play the game with my kids?
Appropriate for players ages 10 and up.
Orders & Shipping
How fast can I get my order?
You’ll see your shipping options
during the checkout process, but we use two shipping carriers (FedEx and
USPS), and offer a variety of speeds:
Orders placed after 3pm ET / 12pm PT will ship out by the following business day. Orders placed after 3pm ET / 12pm PT on Fridays will ship out the following Monday.
Days refers to business days and does not include Saturday, Sundays, or holidays.
IMPORTANT NOTE: COVID is causing delays at shipping carriers that are unfortunately out of our control (more on that below). As a result, we highly recommend you place time-sensitive orders early.
Is COVID causing delays?
Ugh, yes. Due to COVID-19, shipping carriers may be operating with delays of 1-3 days on top of already defined transit times. Certain locations, especially larger cities, are
experiencing additional delays due to labor shortages. During the holiday season, shipping carrier delays may be even longer due to high volume.
We will do everything possible to deliver your order as quickly as possible. However, many of these factors are out of our control, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during these unusual times.
Do you offer free shipping?
We do! All you have to do is order $60 worth of stuff and we’ll cover ground shipping for free! If you need expedited shipping, you’ll be responsible for those charges.
Do you offer gift wrap?
We unfortunately do not (trust us, we’re not very good with wrapping paper) But you can send your items with a free gift note.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we don’t offer international shipping. However, we’re working on this capability and will update our community as soon as it becomes available.
Can I change or cancel my order?
*Please note that once an order has been shipped, we cannot modify or cancel it.*
If you would like to change or cancel an order before it ships, please contact The Deep’s team at email@example.com. And we promise not to take our sadness out on our new intern, Steve.
How do I contact customer service about my order?
Contact The Deep’s team (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm PT) by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Well, technically you can email whenever. We just respond during those hours.)
What is your return policy?
Unless the item arrived with moderate to severe damage or the order was incorrect, all sales are final and may not be returned, canceled, or exchanged.
If the item is damaged or the wrong item was received, please email us within seven (7) days of receiving your order at email@example.com. In that email, please provide: (1) your name, (2) your order number, and (3) a description of the problem, and a photograph of the damaged item or incorrect item received.
If your order qualifies for a return or exchange, we will send you a prepaid shipping label to return the damaged or incorrect item to us and will ship out the replacement item(s) as soon as possible. If the item(s) are out of stock, we will ship them to you as soon as inventory is restocked.
I want to sell The Deep Game (or other Deep products) in my store. Who do I contact?
Our standard contract involves a strength challenge and the naming of your first born, but you seem cool, so we can skip all that. Shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll make it happen!
Where do you come up with your content ideas?
We get ideas from anywhere/everywhere. But if we’re really stuck, we have our intern, Steve, take some mushrooms and see what he comes up with.
